“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
Bury Hospice has many supporters worthy of note and the Art Festival Committee would like to acknowledge Gill Wild who is a founding member of Bury Art Festival.
Gill has served on the committee for the past 4 years, taking responsibility for raising funds through sponsorship. Gill and her family are well known in Bury and everyone who knows her recognises that Gill has many talents and always gives one hundred per cent to everything she does. Gill was a trustee on the Board at Bury Hospice for 7 years, overseeing finance and management with a special interest in fundraising. Not only has she handled sponsorship for Bury Art Festival but she has raised money for us herself by selling plants and hosting lunches in her beautiful garden. We are very grateful for her solid support over the years.
We have already had 2 very successful events in the lead up to The Art Festival.
Dr Pat Fletcher organised a lunch and art display of the work of Gerry Halpin MBE and Robert Cox on 26th June at St Monica's Sixth Form Centre in Prestwich and Mrs Gill Wild held a lunch in her lovely 4 acre garden on 2nd July . Both events were both memorable and enjoyable and raised generous funds for the hospice. Thank you to them and to all who attended.
