rules of entry 

The main Exhibition is open to any artist over 16 years of age.


Only original work not previously submitted to Bury Art Festival may be entered.


The artist must declare on the entry form that all works submitted for entry are originals. Lithographs or etchings ARE acceptable but colour copies, gicl'ee prints and photograph reproductions ARE NOT.


Bury Hospice, or its authorised representatives, reserve the sight to reject, at the selection process, any work that is considered unsuitable for the exhibition.


Works must be framed appropriate for the medium. All pieces must be strung ready for hanging. Inadequately framed items will not be displayed. No clip frames will be accepted.


Some paintings will be displayed on the gallery walls, Mirror-plate fixing will be carried out by the Gallery.


Works must indicate the artists name, title of piece, medium & sale price on the back of the work. Also, a tie-on label with htis information must be attached to the back of the work with a string long enough to hang over the top front of the exhibit to aid screen labelling.


Works priced on the Entry Form may not be withdrawn from sale once accepted.


Works may not be sold for less than the catalogue price during the Exhibition.


3D exhibits must be displayed by the artist in pre-allocated areas in the Gallery.


In the event of a sale, Bury Hospice will take a 30% donation, unless the Artist has generously offered a greater percentage.


Whilst every care will be taken, neither Bury Hospice nor any other person(s) connected with this event either directly or indirectly, will accept any responsibilty for loss or damage, howsoever caused to any artwork(s). Artwork is submitted at your own risk.  If insurance cover is desired then each individual artist must make his/her own arrangements and their own cost.


Accepted works must remain on show for the duration of the Exhibition. Sold and Unsold works must be collected during the times and places specified. This information will be given to you if your entry is successful.


The Entry Fee of £15 covers all works submitted. This needs to be sent with the Entry Form and is non-refundable. Unsuccessful applicant's fees will be dontated to Bury Hospice.


Cheques to be made payable to "Bury Hospice (Art Festival)".


At the end of the festival, exhibited works not sold must be collected within the specified times.


All works not collected will be held for 2 weeks after which it will be consided forfeit and disposed of for the benefit of the Bury Hospice at the discretion of the Art Festival organisers.
